We are currently seeking an Engineering Technician for a 6 to 9 month LTE position working with the product design group at our Madison, Wisconsin headquarters. Position is full or part time with flexible hours during our normal business hours (Monday-Friday 7:30 am to 5:00 pm). 


At just 10 blocks from the Capitol, we're close to downtown and campus. We're also right on the bus route, close to bike paths, and parking in our lots is free.


  • Assist engineering team with design and development of products, testing methods, procedures, and systems.
  • Build and test prototype parts and assemblies.
  • Develop dimensional layouts of parts and assemblies.
  • Set up equipment and fixtures. 
  • Calibrate instruments. 
  • Perform statistical analysis of dimensional data and tests; prepare and present written reports regarding the results.
  • Organize and maintain departmental record systems.
  • Participate on cross-functional teams to ensure the continuous, on-going improvement of processes, methods, productivity, quality, and cost reductions. 


  • Aptitude and ability to perform position responsibilities. We will train on essential duties. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, Word, Excel and Outlook is essential.
  • Experience with 3D CAD modeling, Solidworks preferred.
  • Familiarity with building sciences and HVAC dynamics.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Creativity and problem solving skills.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to make precise measurements and keep accurate records.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and stay organized.
  • Mathematical proficiency with the ability to use math in analysis, design, and troubleshooting.
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to carry out instructions. Ability to operate machinery.
  • A can-do attitude coupled with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Collaborative and team focused.
