It is for this reason that we currently seek a dynamic Distribution Sales Manager to manage wholesale relationships in our Western Region. We're looking for a charasmatic leader with strong business acumen and experience with 2-step distribution who has the talent and skill to take us to the next level.

That's when we first began to design, manufacture and distribute quality products that improve the indoor air of homes and businesses throughout North America. Aprilaire's reputation as an innovator in the industry was solidified in 1954 when we introduced the first truly effective whole-home humidifier.  Since then we've expanded the line and added an entire family of whole-home indoor air quality products, including air purifiers, dehumidifiers, ventilation systems, thermostats and controllers, and zoned temperature control systems. Responsibilities

  • Own distribution of all Aprilaire products in the Western Region (all states west of the Mississippi and Western Canada) with the goal of meeting and exceeding sales goals. 
  • Maintain strong distributor partnerships at senior management level with current and potential distributors.
  • Develop and manage annual marketing plans with partnering distributors.
  • Establish quarterly and annual activity plans with distributors, ensuring planned activities are executed through distribution leadership.  
  • Analyze sales data, market trends, and performance of distributor marketing plans, driving changes when necessary.
  • Manage requests for distribution and bring to logical conclusion by maintaining distributor quality objectives.
  • Resolve distribution inconsistencies in a timely manner.
  • Maintain awareness of changes in the industry and position the company to take advantage of those changes. Drive the necessary changes to conclusion. 
  • Identify new product concepts with rationale for market size, selling price, and competitive product matrix including pricing, as well analysis of who buys and how the new product would fit with our high growth distribution partners.  

Qualifications

  • Possesses a record of achievement, a passion for winning, and a desire to consistently exceed expectations. 
  • Has a strong understanding of and experience with two-step distribution/pull-through distribution. 
  • Has experience leading and working with outside distribution to achieve ambitious sales goals.
  • Ability to develop and manage a sales plan with activities designed to mutually grow the business of Aprilaire and its distributors.
  • Exceptional planning and execution skills.
  • Strong business acumen. 
  • Self-motivated, strong initiative, and the ability to work autonomously. 
  • Collaborative style with the ability to influence and manage others without direct authority.
  • Analytical and skilled at evaluating sales performance, identifying trends, and driving change when needed. 
  • Sound judgement and decision making with the ability to recognize what’s most important.
  • Experience working a large territory with the ability to travel overnight 50-60% of time. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, marketing or complimentary field of study.
