    Research Products Corporation d/b/a Aprilaire is seeking a Senior Electronics Design Engineer to work at its Madison, Wisconsin facilities as a technical lead on product development projects for the company's electronic products and components used in the HVAC industry.



    The person will perform product development activities including designing and developing hardware for embedded systems; programing embedded systems firmware; using real time operating systems (RTOS) to design control firmware Interface and coordinating with component vendors, contract manufacturers, test engineers, and offshore personnel; performing quality control activities; and, supervising prototype build tests. In addition, under the direction of the Engineering director, the Senior Electronics Design Engineer will assist with some project management activities including planning, project costing, leading cross-functional design teams and project status reporting.


    Qualified candidates will have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field and 6 years of progressive embedded systems design experience. As part of the 6 years of prior experience, the person must have: 

    • At least 5 years' experience with embedded systems hardware design and development.
    • At least 4 years' experience with CAD package usage for schematics capture ~t PCB layout; working with oscilloscopes, multimeters, emulators, and debuggers; and, working in cross-functional teams.
    • At least 2 years' experience with sensor interfaces, analog ~t digital
    • At least 1 year experience with embedded systems firmware development using programming languages including C, RTOS and Linux.
    • At least 1 year experience working with communications interfaces (including SPI, i2C, RS-232, RS-485); and
    • At least 1 year experience with hardware qualification testing.
