    Aprilaire is bringing in new talent and seeking a highly strategic and forward thinking Plant Manager to lead our Madison manufacturing facility.

    In the role of Plant Manager, you will lead the Madison Plant manufacturing facility and work with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturing and production runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently while producing great quality products. 


    Additional responsibilities include:

    • Development of the annual Plant strategic plan that supports the Aprilaire Strategic Plan. This includes all aspects of quality, cost, capital, customer service, safety, organizational health, and continuous improvement.
    • Establishing a culture of continuous improvement in all levels of the Plant, and for developing and executing plans that achieve continuous improvement in all Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s). This includes the deployment of manufacturing improvement methodologies, such as, Lean principles, 6 Sigma skills, OEE metrics, Line Management Teams, and problem solving skills.
    • Understanding, developing, monitoring, and achieving the financial plans for the Plant. This includes all aspects of the cost: inbound freight, material, labor, variable and fixed overhead, distribution, and outbound freight.
    • Developing and implementing plans that achieve year-on-year reduction in total Plant manufacturing cost, every year.
    • Development of the Plant annual and 5 year capital plans that support the Aprilaire Strategic Plan. Also responsible for the effective execution of each capital project.
    • Effective control of inventory, including the storage and movement systems, cycle count program, and inventory accuracy metrics.
    • Development and deployment of the total Plant quality system that pertains to suppliers, inputs, processes, outputs, and customers. This includes all elements of the quality policy and procedures, as well as effective process control systems.
    • All aspects of safety performance in the Plant. Works with the Safety Leader to develop KPI’s, assess risks, develop and implement improvement plans, and maintain compliance with all safety rules and regulations.
    • Work with Business Leaders to establish on-time customer service KPI’s, and for the successful attainment of these metrics.
    • Work with the Materials team to develop effective production planning processes that improve schedule attainment, improvement headcount planning, reduce material outages, and improve cost efficiency.
    • Understanding the drivers of the Plant organizational health, and to implement communication and alignment processes that provide clarity, productivity, satisfaction, and collaboration.
    • Lead, develop and build a high-performing Plant organization capable of managing growth, innovation and transformation.


    The following knowledge, skills, and abilities will serve beneficial to you in being successful as Plant Manager.

    • Bachelor’s degree in a manufacturing management-related major and 5-7 years related management experience. MBA is a plus.
    • Strong project management and communication skills with the ability to manage diverse, concurrent projects with varying complexity.
    • Demonstrated cross-functional collaboration, with ability to build relationships across groups, and to drive buy-in and commitment to innovation solutions.
