Your day will include:

  • Lead person to deliver products with quality, reliability and robustness through reliability tools and processes of Engineering and Technology (E&T) organization
  • Lead and develop Accelerated Life Test and Highly Accelerated Life Test for E&T organization to significantly reduce test time and shorten overall product development cycle time
  • Working cross-functionally, lead development and execution of product quality and reliability strategy
  • Support E&T organization in implementation of best practices for Design for Quality, Design for Reliability, and Design for Manufacturability using Six Sigma, Reliability, and robust product design principles
  • E&T lead in Failure Review Boards, oversee Failure Mode Analysis, Risk Management and Hazard Analysis, and Worst Case Analysis
  • Support development of the company’s quality and reliability metrics and programs to systematically increase reliability and quality assurance for all platforms
  • Proficient understanding of gauge repeatability and reproducibility and sample size/power calculations to achieve the level of statistical confidence desired
  • Support and provide subject matter expertise to build world class test facility for Product Quality and Reliability
  • Carryout and oversee engineering requirements to meet and exceed platform goals relating to product design, cost, release timing and validation of quality, function and performance for the full product life cycle
  • Lead, coach and develop Enterprise Reliability Processes/Tools to E&T organization
  • Stay current on industry best practice and deploy as needed

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or a related technical field
  • Eight years direct experience in semiconductor, package and/or board reliability with a demonstrated in-depth knowledge of reliability physics
  • Five years of company level deployment of reliability processes and tools with hands-on analysis experience
  • Ability to use Six Sigma and reliability tools such as Minitab, JMP, ReliaSoft, or Statistica
  • Success in managing reliability and/or failure analysis labs
  • Failure Review Board experience, including Root Cause and Corrective Actions
  • Thorough understanding and practical use of Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Design for Reliability (DFR), and Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
  • Strong analytical skills and statistical knowledge including Design of Experiments, Statistical Process Control, Reliability Life-Time Predictions, Weibull, etc.
  • Thorough understanding of quality and reliability standards and requirements for consumer, industrial, and automotive markets
  • Experience in materials and parts engineering
  • Supplier source selection (technical basis)
  • Ability to present technical information to stakeholders and to customers
  • Ability to train and mentor staff in reliability disciplines
  • Experience leading failure investigations and/or performing failure analysis leading to root cause and corrective action
  • Demonstrated managerial, leadership, and/or project management experience
  • Ability to travel up to 20% both domestically and internationally
  • HVAC, appliance, automobile, air purity, filters experience preferred
