We are adding to our Engineering team and are seeking a Senior Designer to join us! This role makes an impact on our Engineering team by developing design concepts within CAD and modeling parts and products. At the senior level, you'll have the opportunity to lead projects and support the CAD team with your specialist level skills. 

Your day will include:

• Developing design concepts that address the specific needs of the product including:
  • Durability
  • Reliability
  • Conformance to standards
  • Performance
  • Manufacturability
  • Aesthetics
  • Design for assembly
• Creating CAD modeling of parts, complex assemblies and injection molded products
• Performing FEA analysis on key components
• Maintaining documentation of designs, preparing layouts of systems and components, and detailed drawings 
• Preparing Bills of Materials
• Performing tolerance stack-up calculations
• Partnering with vendors to develop specifications, obtain quotations, and prepare cost estimates
• Collaborating with purchasing or vendor qualification and selection
• Preparing prototype models for testing.
• Preparing  demonstration units and presentations to Management
• Performing  Engineering analysis to select the optimum design
• Demonstrating adherence to Quality Management System

• Technical degree in related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum 7 years of experience in 2D CAD design and drafting
• Minimum 7 years of solid modeling experience (preferably using SolidWorks)
• Prior experience leading a project 
• Background in Product Data or Lifecycle Management and MRP system
• Understanding of a variety of manufacturing methods and processes including sheet metal fabrication and injection molded plastics
• Understanding of prototyping and 3D printing process and techniques
• Curious and innovative problem solver who possesses a positive mindset
