Aprilaire is looking for a Product Marketing Manager to join our Marketing team and support our products within Thermostats and Zoning. You'll make an impact within our business by owning and directing current and new product development that supports or advancement within the IoT field. This includes leaning into application, the competitive set, product features, product pricing (and more!) to support our emerging product market strategy. 

 

Note: This position is not 100% remote. Candidates should be within 75 miles of Dane county or actively planning to move near Dane county. 

Responsibilities

Your day will include: 

  • Setting direction for cross-functional product teams (Engineering, Sales, etc), defining the features and requirements necessary to deliver an outstanding product while collaboratively determining development methodologies used
  • Strategically accesses and improves existing product categories margins to achieve new levels of growth and profitability
  • Leading in the development and execution of new product and technology roadmap to ensure development projects meet channel, end user, financial, and revenue objectives.
  • Leading execution of new product launches, product line upgrades, and derivative modification implementations
  • Leading P&L performance through value engineering, pricing/mix management, and SKU rationalization
  • Maintaining the viability of new and upgraded products in channels and with end users
  • Designing consumer/customer research and translates consumer needs into value attributes 
  • Identifying new product opportunities and aligns resources to capture opportunity
  • Coordinating activities of sales, operations, and support groups to ensure smooth product delivery to customers
  • Managing development of go-to-market plans, activities, and materials
  • Performing continual assessment of competitive landscape, develops and refines competitive positioning
  • Managing monthly/yearly forecasts with researching of trends, accounts and other drivers

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or Master's degree
  • Experience in Agile project management (highly desireable) 
  • 3 years new product development and launching new products experience
  • 5 years or more product marketing management 
  • Person who can flex between leading, collaborating, and persuading others 
  • Strategic with ability to bring forth opportunities to broaden product category
  • Experience with leaning into consumer research, applying product knowledge to designs, and deep understanding of end user product requirements with the ability to identify and eliminate gaps 
  • Understanding of sales, gross margin, operating income, SG&A as it relates to product marketing 
  • Bonus: Experience leveraging electrical, mechanical, and IoT applications
