Looking for a Principal Mechanical Engineer - Filtration/Purification to join team! In this role you will help develop, manage and deliver advance technology programs and projects in areas of air filtration and purification. Do you have a wealth of knowledge with advanced research and development in filtration technologies? This could be the job for you! 

 

Responsibilities

Your day will include:  

  • Developing, maintaining and delivering technology road-maps for air filtration & purification based on deep understanding of consumer & customer needs, technology and regulatory trends.
  • Leading technology scouting activities in air filtration and purification including identifying new technologies, validating them through theoretical analysis and testing, and evaluating the commercialization feasibility.
  • Working with outside organizations (universities, industry organizations, government bodies, kick starter, business partners) to keep abreast with technological, regulatory, and industry trends.
  • Serving as technology leader and subject matter expert on air filtration and purification. Developing & assessing technologies, labs & tests, assess IP, competitive understanding to deliver innovations.
  • Providing critical input on designs relative to feasibility, performance, and reliability through individual reviews and formal design reviews in the area of Air purity.
  • Providing technical guidance / coaching and mentoring to Engineering and technology team in Indoor Air Quality (IAQ)
  • Representing the company in industry organizations and provide regulatory updates with recommendations on regulatory position to the leadership and engineering organization.
  • Working closely with Engineering & Marketing to create and maintain technology road-maps and provide the Engineering &Technology leadership regular updates on technology road-maps, programs, and projects.
  • Developing and conducting continuous improvements IAQ testing lab capabilities.
  • Establishing and maintaining a technology network to leverage external resources and partners.
  • Conducting technology scouting activities to identify new air filtration and purification technologies.
  • Developing and implementing evaluation plans including theoretical analysis, internal and external testing to validate new technologies.
  • Organizing and facilitating innovation workshop to create new technology and product/system concepts.
  • Validating new technology and product/system concepts through computer modeling.
  • Developing concept prototypes and conduct testing and evaluation.
  • Preparing engineering specifications and project documentation for transferring projects to Product Development team for commercialization.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree, PhD. preferred, in Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
  • Wealth of knowledge and experience with advanced research and development in air filtration and purification technologies and systems.
  • Extensive experience with IAQ product/system design, modeling, and testing.
  • Good understanding of HVAC systems and building science.
  • Experience of coaching and mentoring.
  • Expert with a commanding grasp of aerosol filtration theory and applications in indoor air quality controls.
  • In-depth understanding of air purification theory and applications in controls of indoor volatile organic, odors, and pathogens.
  • Advanced research & development experience in IAQ system design, modeling, and testing.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes for filtration media, filters, and air cleaners.
  • Detailed knowledge of HVAC systems including various components and subsystems.
  • Familiar with computer modeling in HVAC and IAQ applications
  • Basic knowledge and experience in indoor air quality sensors.
