We are seeking an Human Resources Manager to join our team! This person will make a lasting impact on our business operations in our Madison manufacturing plant and will act as a champion for our organizational values. If you are the type of person who displays a sense of urgency and personal initiative, are skilled in problem solving and team building, and has prior experience developing employees and managers, we want to hear from you! 

 

Note: This role is not 100% remote. Candidates must live within 50-75 miles of Madison or be in the active process of moving here.

Responsibilities

Your day will include: 

    • Establish relations with employees that inspire trust, confidence, and respect.
    • Lead the collaboration team to build a relationship between management and production floor.
    • Interpret and communicate human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations.
    • Investigate and address employee relations issues, such as work complaints and employee concerns.  Provide recommendations for next steps.
    • Responsible for making recommendations based on the labor contract.
    • Counsel supervisors/managers involving production staff and general staff personnel issues. Provide guidance and feedback as needed.
    • Manage the attendance policy per the plant rules, FMLA guidelines and labor contract.
    • Meet monthly with each management team member in the Madison facility to help facilitate growth and support development within their respective area.
    • Assist with the preparation of contract negotiations and act as a member of the Management team to research, bargain and settle day-to-day grievances.
    • Administer the leave of absences program, including personal time off, sick leave policy and Family Medical Leave Act in Madison facility.
    • Maintain internal system with production staff absence information.
    • Communicate effectively to supervisors, internal production admin team, and payroll regarding employee hires/terms/LOA/FMLA. 
    • Assisting in recruiting process where needed such as collaborating with hiring managers and interview teams to ensure job requirements and expectations are clearly defined and candidates are assessed against appropriate criteria 
    • Training managers on communication of expectations and feedback, effective coaching, employee development, etc. 
    • Coaching, guiding, partnering, and collaborate with leaders at all levels on employee related issues to ensure consistency, compliance, and positive outcomes
    • Act as a Brand Ambassador--promote and champion company values.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years prior experience as an HR Manager, HR Business Partner, Senior HR Generalist or similar position
  • Bachelor's degree ideal
  • Ability to drive results, take ownership and manage projects from start to finish 
  • Demonstrated experience with people development both directly and indirectly through the coaching of managers and employees
  • Ability to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities while balancing multiple initiatives
  • Skilled in conflict resolution, mediation, problem solving and team building
  • Highly customer focused with ability to build rapport, establish credibility, demonstrate sound judgment, and positively influence outcomes
