As a Laboratory Test Intern, you will have the opportunity to support our lab operations group by providing hands-on product and firmware testing as well as documentation and design support. This is a great chance to learn about how AprilAire products are tested to ensure quality with a company that manufactures products right here in Wisconsin.

 

Interns must have reliable transportation and be able to commit to being 100% onsite.

What to expect:

  • Start in mid to late May and end by end of August (some flexibility on start and end dates)
  • Full-time hours, Monday to Friday
  • Onsite in Sun Prairie, WI 5 days per week.
  • Paid internship--twice per month paychecks

Responsibilities

As a Design/Test Engineering Intern, your day may include: 

  • Testing firmware and software validation
  • Product and alternate parts testing in the E-lab.
  • Mechanical product performance testing
  • Air Filter testing in our ASHRAE lab
  • Project support across engineering groups as needed
  • Supporting test plans and testing specific for our devices
  • Participating in the design process and learning hands-on prototype building
  • Processing and creating technical documentation
  • Researching thermal sciences and controls 

Qualifications

 Desired Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years completed towards bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or other STEM based major
  • Experience in or desire to work inside a lab environment
  • Creative, curious, and passionate about your field of study 
  • Collaborative and willing to work positively with other team members
  • Ability to complete projects and document work
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
