The Recruiting Specialist-LTE is responsible for supporting and facilitating recruiting activities to attract and hire Production Staff employees for AprilAire. This person’s focus will largely be temporary, full-time production positions. As time permits, this person will also support special projects or regular full-time operations recruiting in an administrative capacity and conducting initial screenings (such as phone interviews).

Responsibilities

 

As a Recruiting Specialist-LTE, you will work directly with the recuriting team in the Manufacturing Plant located in Poynette, WI.  

 

In this role, your day may include: 

  • Under the direction of HR Generalist, understand production recruiting needs and targeted start dates and supervisors
  • Screen candidate resumes and job applications
  • Conduct phone interviews using a standard template
  • Recruit candidates by using databases, social media, referrals, job fairs and other resources
  • Schedule and coordinate candidates for tours in the Madison and Poynette plants
  • Conduct in-person interviews and tours in the Madison and Poynette plants
  • Coordinate and deliver offers to applicants; work with hiring managers and HR team as needed to ensure alignment
  • Update related spreadsheets and iCIMS to maintain applicant flow, support metrics and reporting, and understand open shifts or roles
  • Launch onboarding activities (such as emails, calendar events, Paylocity, and background screenings) for new employees
  • Follow up with candidates pre-start to ensure they start as planned; collect information and update iCims and others to communicate changes to plan
  • Follow up with new hires to collect new hire paperwork including I9 and other onboarding materials
  • During non-peak periods, conduct phone interviews, schedule interviews, and other administrative tasks as assigned within the Talent Acquisition team
  • Apply HR recruiting best practices and adjust as the field changes
  • Provide analytical and well-documented recruiting reports to the rest of the team.

Qualifications

  • Effective ability to conduct different types of interviews (structured, competency-based) over the phone, in-person, or virtually
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal customers, external vendors, and community partners to deliver excellent internal customer service
  • Ability to work onsite daily in the Madison or Poynette Facility.
  • Ability to shift schedule 1-2 days per week to support onboarding individuals on off shifts.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking skills to problem solve and identify process improvements.
  • Ability to receive feedback and implement as needed
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency to complete tasks as appropriate
  • Collaborative, positive, and team oriented
  • Effective planning, prioritization, and organizational skills
  • Preferred but not required: Prior experience with HR databases, Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and/or Candidate Management Systems (CMS)
