Our IT team is currently looking for a Programming Analyst to join them at our Madison Corporate Office. The Program Analyst will help in a variety of aspects including but not limited to: programming procedures, redesign initiatives, investigating program requirements and helping to develop programming specifications.

Responsibilities

In this role you will: 

  • Develop and modify existing RPG programs to meet business needs.
  • Carry out progressively more difficult assignments involving compiling, summarizing, and analysis of data concerning the function or problem being studied. Prepare flow charts to outline the existing process or the proposed solution to the problem.
  • Interpret programming troubleshooting issues and modify existing code to meet company and user needs.
  • Assist with programming projects that meet business needs. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems and complex issues.
  • Maintain and make changes to existing databases in DB2, SQL and Access.
  • Maintain files and libraries.
  • Design print programs and report formats.
  • Setup and maintain EDI relationships and transactions. Work with our VAR to optimize our EDI software such as SFTP file transfer.
  • Maintain labeling software and printing of labels. Design new labels as requested to assist production and support customer needs.
  • Respond to operating problems and error messages and take corrective action.
  • Assist in determining the relevance of computer programs relative to specific administrative, scientific, and engineering functions or problems.
  • Run daily, weekly, monthly, annual and special requested reports. These reports are to be run on a timely basis.  Print or generate electronically appropriate reports on appropriate forms and printers.
  • Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and annual tasks including billing, payroll, AR, etc.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Associate’s degree in computer science or similar discipline.
  • 6+ years experience with programming techniques and computer operations with a track record of meeting accuracy and proficiency requirements.
  • Proficiency with RPG programming language.
  • Understanding of APIs and web development.
  • Java, Json, PHP knowledge desired.
  • Strong knowledge of commonly used Windows applications.
  • Strong organizational and communicating skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of PC database applications.
  • Problem solving skills and ability to think algorithmically
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to work well with users (understanding needs, training users on programs and procedures).
  • Strong initiative, organizational skills, and the ability to drive projects to conclusion.
